Ae Facilities

Support Café Facilities at Ae Forest
Help prevent the loss of essential facilities at one of Scotland’s most important outdoor destinations.
After 13 years of serving the forest community, the existing café at Ae Forest is now closed, leaving visitors without a permanent indoor facility on site.
Ae Forest is a nationally recognised mountain biking and outdoor recreation venue, used year‑round by riders, walkers, families, event organisers and volunteers from across Scotland and beyond. With the cafe closed, the only remaining on‑site facilities are very limited, basic temporary toilet provision, with no sheltered space for rest, refreshment, or community use.
Our Request
We are asking Forestry and Land Scotland and relevant stakeholders to recognise the importance of on‑site facilities and to work proactively to:
- Provide access to existing facilities or temporary buidings
- Support the establishment of a new cafe facility
- Ensure future planning reflects how the forest is actually used by the public
This is about maintaining basic infrastructure appropriate for a nationally significant outdoor venue.
How you can help
By completing this Visitor Survey, you are showing that leaving Ae Forest with no cafe and only minimal facilities is not acceptable for a site of this importance.
